The acorn rarely falls far from the tree and Sheila Simon shows it. She is much like her father, Paul Simon, one of the greatest statesmen Illinois has ever had, sans the bow tie. Sheila Simon has all of the qualities we’d want in our State Comptroller, with impeccable honesty at the top of the list. She is also bright, insightful, well organized, creative but logical, resourceful, enterprising, hard working, and dedicated to serving the People of Illinois.
Sheila Simon combines honesty with a great sense of humor. We should expect the former from politicians, and we are fortunate if we also have the latter. Sheila will speak straight, and with common sense at hand. Illinois needs her!
Sheila has an abiding interest in the environment and, more importantly, an interest in effectively, efficiently and sustainability solving the problems of flood damage, pollution, declining wildlife habitat and quality open space for the citizens of Illinois. As Comptroller, she would be in a position to ensure that our tax dollars are wisely spent on environmental restoration and protection and that the ecosystem services returned from these investments will be equitability distributed.
Rugged independence, common sense values, strong family tradition, ability to communicate and stand for her values.
As the Rock Island County Recorder I know full well the importance of keeping a watchful eye on the taxpayers dollar. I have always had the utmost respect for Sheila Simon, she is a person of the people. I am honored to endorse her candidacy.
I have known Sheila for some time now. I know her to be highly ethical and totally honest. I know she is looking out for the future well-being of all Illinoisans. I know she will have creative solutions to the problems encountered by the Comptroller’s office. And, I know Springfield could use more people like Sheila Simon.
Sheila understands that the Comptroller’s job includes keeping track of municipal finances and preventing municipal corruption. She will do this, whereas the incumbent has neglected this component of the job and therefore Illinois has experienced a series of completely preventable local scandals.
Sheila Simon comes from a respected political heritage that engenders confidence in her ability to serve the state well.
Her honesty, enthusiasm, family values, and her support of what’s right and wrong in government, just as her father, the late Paul Simon, did. Her knowledge of the law is also very valuable. I think she’d be an outstanding comptroller.
